The Red Crane Cross

On a beautiful, 70 degree and sunny Friday in June Karolyn and Robert held their wedding ceremony at the Stillwater Public Library. When Karolyn and Robert booked the terrace last year, they envisioned a ceremony with the beautiful view of the St. Croix River as the backdrop for their wedding. When they got the news that a 150 foot construction crane had gone up right in the middle of that backdrop, they were understandably concerned. However, this couple has a great sense of humor, and decided to make they best of the situation! A note in their wedding program read, "A thank you to the City of Stillwater for providing the Red Crane Cross" for their altar. They went ahead with their plans to be married in the Southwest corner of the terrace, the corner closest to the crane.

Karolyn and Robert chose to use the Library's pergola as a walk-way, rather than using it as the backdrop for their ceremony. Each bridesmaid had a dress in a different style, though all were periwinkle blue. The only surprise during the event, was a fly-over by a helicopter! One of the many unexpected things that can happen at a rooftop wedding venue.

The ceremony was officiated by Pastor David Bostrom. Floral was provided by Chic Ami Designs, check back for an update with their contact information. The photographer was Spencer Combs, whose energy and enthusiasm is AMAZING! I look forward to working more with all vendors involved in this event. A reception followed at Lake Elmo Inn Events Center.
